Let’s remind ourselves that Health Canada sets out a minimum fitness standard that we should try to maintain all year, not just through Globe Walk season. They recommend at least 150 minutes of moderate to vigorous activity per week in bouts of 10+ and strength training/stretching twice per week.
In case you think this means a gym membership (which is great), you don’t need one. All the standards can be met at home or in the community. You can even stretch or lift weights while watching TV. Do what you enjoy!
When Globe Walk season arrives you can count all the activity as kilometres!
