Fantastic – Fun – Entertaining – Inspiring and a whole bunch of other things!
We had our largest turnout ever for this event (sold out) and I have had many positive comments on it.
The music was fabulous – it was great to see and hear “The Pikes” (two of them – Jay Semko and Ross Nykiforuk). They are great entertainers, both musically talented and funny. There is a reason that they are still touring!
Our speakers were all Globe Walk fans. They included our former Globe Walk ambassador Vera Pezer, Mayor Charlie Clark, Jeananne Klein with SCOA greetings and Richard Kilburn (of IG Private Wealth Management – our title sponsor) who always has a great message. Our guest speaker, Rick Stene spoke about the benefits of exercise. He was incredibly knowledgeable and very entertaining.
Thanks to all of those who worked so hard to make our annual windup a success. Special thanks to Ron, Sheldon and Dawna (the behind the scenes planners – Ron also acted as MC) as well as all of the Globe Walk volunteers and SCOA staff who worked the event.
For those of you who missed it – make sure you put it on the calendar for next year. You will not be sorry.
GLOBE WALK 2019 – FINAL STATISTICS
We announced the final numbers for this years’ Globe Walk. We had 2700 participants who finished in April. Collectively they logged 828,096 kilometres! We beat last years’ distance once again!
That brings our 6 year grand total to 13,599 participants who have logged 3,794,384 kilometers. These boots were made for walking !!!
