Globe Walk 2017 ends with a Celebration

Great food, great speakers and great company – what could be better?  Globe Walk celebrated another successful year at our annual Celebration Luncheon.

We started with a video message (and some beautiful video of the space station) from our Ambassador, Dr. Roberta Bondar,  congratulating all Globe Walkers on their achievements.  That was followed by an excellent luncheon buffet.  We finished with encouraging words from Mayor Charlie Clark and from some of our sponsors – Richard from Investors Group and Jamie from the Dakota Dunes CDC.

We also had some wonderful prizes.  The lucky ticket holders won walking poles, gift baskets, pedometers, YMCA memberships, Globe Walk back packs and passes  the City of Saskatoon Leisure centers.

Richard from Investors Group started a new program to give Globe Walk a great start for next year.  From now until June 10th we can make a charitable donation to Globe Walk and he will match our donations dollar for dollar.  Let’s take advantage of that wonderful offer.

Thanks to the Globe Walk Staff and the Globe Walk Committee for all of their hard work in making our wind up wonderful event.

Most of all thanks to all the Globe Walk participants and Captains.  Without you, there would be nothing to celebrate!

I look forward to doing it all over again in 2018 – with even more teams and participants.
