Captain’s Launch

Greetings Captains:

The Captain’s Launch is just around the corner!

Please join us for our “lift off” ceremony at the Field House to enjoy refreshments, socialize with other Captains (note the launch is for Captains only) and hit the track to launch the Walk. The ceremony will be held in meeting room #3 at the Field House (across from the Council on Aging) at 1:00 pm, Monday, January 4th. This is your opportunity to receive details and to ask questions about your responsibility as a Captain. You’ll receive a Captain’s information handbook to help you with your role as Captain.

Thanks to funding received by our title sponsor, the Investors Group, all Captains will receive a free Globe Walk T-shirt. T-shirts can also be purchased at the launch for team members at cost – $10. Please make every effort to attend; if you are not available, I encourage you to send one of your team members in your place.

Let your team members know that they can start recording their January miles on the 4th. The Field House tracks (funded by our title sponsor the Investors Group) will be available every Tuesday and Thursday (1pm-2pm) starting January 5th. Note that the track will not be available on January 21st due to a conflict with a Field House event.

The Martensville Athletic Pavilion track will also be available for Globe Walkers every Wednesday from 1pm -2pm starting January 6th.

Thank you for your community leadership in encouraging older adults to stay active this winter by participating in this “out of the world” experience.

Best of the season to you!
