Congratulations on a fantastic first month of our Saskatoon Seniors’ Globe Walk, we have definitely exceeded expectations! The initial goal was to have a total of 500 participants – we more than doubled that with 1135. We wanted to get to Sochi in time for the Opening of the Olympics, we certainly made it with time to spare having logged enough miles to get us all the way around the world. In January our SCOA team travelled 1356 miles. Way to go team!! Our challenge now is to keep that enthusiasm going and have our teams complete another walk around the globe by the end of February. How awesome would that be? WE CAN DO IT!!
I hope to see many of you at the Forestry Farm on Monday between 1:00 and 3:00 for a Walk In The Park. The forecast looks great for a winter walk.
Next month you are invited to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day (March 17th) by coming to the Field House any time between 1:30 and 3:00, doing some walking around the track and some socializing in one of the rooms upstairs in the Field House. You’re encouraged to WEAR GREEN and enjoy gathering with your team and meeting members of other teams.
A Participant Celebration Lunch will be held at 12:30 pm Sunday, May 4th at the Western Development Museum. Tickets are $10 and includes admission to the Museum. Space is limited so Globe Walk participants are encouraged to purchase their tickets early. They will first be available at our gathering on March 17th.
Okay Team SCOA – let’s keep going!
